In the Song Dynasty, there was a scholar named Shen Wensu. He yearned to become famous in the imperial examination and shine on his family. One day, he passed through Fenghuang Mountain on his way to take the exam and was attacked by bandits. However, fate arranged an unexpected encounter for him with the leader of the bandit village, a brave and beautiful woman Liu Chanjin. They fell in love and got married.

Soon after, Shen Wensu successfully passed the exam and his reputation and status rose overnight. With the arrival of glory and power, Shen Wensu's mentality also changed. He began to long for a higher status and wanted to become the emperor's son-in-law and recruit him as his consort. As a result, he gradually alienated his wife and even began to plan how to get rid of her.

Liu Chanjin was not unaware of Shen Wensu's changes, but she loved her husband deeply and chose to believe in his promises and vows. She decided to go to Beijing in person to find her husband, hoping to get him back. However, he was coldly rejected and abandoned.

Twelve years later, the country was invaded by foreign troops and war was breaking out. The prime minister recommended Liu Chanjin to lead the expedition. She personally ordered her husband to escort the grain and grass, hoping that he could serve the country and atone for his sins.

He thought it also was an opportunity to make contributions, but unexpectedly he made many mistakes due to negligence. Liu Chanjin was very angry at Shen Wensu's mistake and ordered him as patroller as for punishment.

When Shen Wensu was patrolling in the night alone through the military camp, he was shocked to find that this mighty female marshal was actually his wife he abandoned. Regret and guilt flooded his mind, and he couldn't face the fact.

Seeing that Shen Wensu was truly repentant, Liu Chanjin decided to give him a chance to change his ways. She reconciled with Shen Wensu, working together for the peace and stability of the country.

In the end, under the leadership of Liu Chanjin, the army restored peace to the country. Shen Wensu also found his own value and meaning. He was deeply grateful to Liu Chanjin for her tolerance and generosity, and the two spent the rest of their lives hand in hand.
